The Marketing and Public Relations Manager will oversee all functions of the department as they relate to the creation and implementation of detailed promotional and marketing programs for venue events, management of venue branding and social media, and public relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the department personnel, including progress and performance to ensure assigned work is completed correctly and on time. Provide mentorship and guidance to develop marketing staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.Plan, monitor, and manage staff job results by appraising, giving recognition, counseling, and disciplining when needed. Supervise and delegate the work of marketing staff.Help with the development of the department budget and monitor and manage throughout the year to achieve desired results.Develop and/or manage department and event marketing campaign budgets.Create detailed promotional and advertising plans for all venue events, as needed. Create press releases, secure promotions, and oversee the implementation of advertising campaigns. Throughout campaigns, communicate with media outlets, promoters, and artist management on additional marketing opportunities to increase ticket sales. Liaison with media, promoters, record labels, and artists management, as applicable.Develop new strategies for existing events by analyzing statistics regarding market development and historical sales trends, and consulting with internal and external sources.Report event attendance numbers to industry publications, as permissible.Oversee website, all social media, and digital marketing efforts for venue and individual events. Create and implement an annual plan to increase followers and website visits as well as increase exposure for the venue and events, in accordance with ASM Global Marketing initiatives.Collaborate with the booking team to create unique pitches to entice artists to Pechanga Arena San Diego.Identify short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; and implement directives.Organize and submit ticket holds for promotions, media, and artist management to the ticketing department.Be responsible for the Public Relations function, developing relationships with local media and work closely with the ASM Global Corporate PR department.Market venue programs to increase revenues through Preferred parking, VIP experience upsells, individual event sponsorships, Oversee third-party relationships with house photographers, graphic designers, and other vendorsOversee artist gifting program.Performs other related tasks as needed and/or assigned by the General ManagerSupervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Coordinators in the Marketing Department. The Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities per ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations Arts/Sciences Degree (Advanced Degree Preferred) or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years in the field of arena or multi-purpose entertainment facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop. Knowledge of brand identity, advertising, digital marketing, and social media strategy and best practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and foster relationships. Knowledge of media buying and negotiating agreements. Knowledge of the music industry and artist demographics. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills. Experience working with and creating budgets. Experience working as a promoter is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hours. Ability to travel required
