**DESCRIPTION** The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in driving revenue growth, enhancing market presence, and supporting marketing strategies to meet and exceed business goals. With a specific focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and renewable energy solutions, this role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop customer-centric solutions, and stay informed of market trends to enable sustainable growth. **Key Responsibilities:** **Business Development and Sales Enablement:** + Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the BESS market, including commercial, industrial applications, and microgrid deployments. + Build and nurture lasting relationships with customers, convert leads into long-term clients, manage sales pipelines, develop tailored proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals successfully. + Analyze customer energy consumption patterns, load profiles, and application scenarios to gather requirements and demonstrate the financial and technical benefits of BESS solutions, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparisons. + Achieve sales targets and drive continuous improvement to meet performance objectives. + Enable regional and extended team members to engage effectively with customers, understand technical requirements, and articulate the value proposition of BESS solutions. **Market Insights and Product Development:** + Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, regulatory developments, and evolving customer needs to shape growth strategies and inform product roadmap decisions. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supply chain partners to address customer pain points and enhance the value proposition of products and services. **Channel Engagement:** + Evaluate and develop partnerships with key stakeholders to maximize synergies, expand market reach, and drive co-development initiatives. + Design and execute promotional campaigns and ATL/BTL activities to enhance brand awareness. **Marketing and Communication Support:** + Help develop marketing plans by conducting basic market research and pricing analyses and present data for discussion and interpretation. + Prepare drafts of marketing communications and manage project plans, deadlines, and team communications. + Collect and present customer satisfaction data to inform continuous improvement efforts. + Support alignment of marketing activities with the global brand strategy. + Collaborate across regions and business units to ensure consistency and effectiveness in marketing execution. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Skills and Competencies:** + **Communicates Effectively:** Delivers clear, audience-specific communications across multiple modes. + **Customer Focus:** Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions. + **Plans and Aligns:** Effectively prioritizes work to meet organizational goals. + **Resourcefulness:** Secures and deploys resources efficiently to achieve objectives. + **Channel Awareness:** Understands and contextualizes industry structures and dynamics to advance goals. + **Market Analysis:** Researches and analyzes market information to identify trends and opportunities. + **Marketing Plan Management:** Develops marketing mix strategies (Product, Price, Promotion, and Placement) to meet customer needs and achieve objectives. + **Translating Market Data:** Collects and analyzes customer voices and market information to create actionable insights. + **Values Differences:** Recognizes and leverages diverse perspectives and cultures. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Qualifications:** + College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or related field required. + Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in sales, business development, or related roles, preferably within the BESS or renewable energy sector. + Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. + Strong technical understanding of BESS and renewable energy solutions. + Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. + Deep knowledge of regulatory landscapes, market dynamics, and competitive factors influencing the adoption of BESS. + Willingness to travel as needed to meet customers, attend industry conferences, and collaborate with remote teams. **Job** Marketing **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** Hybrid **Job Type** Exempt - Experienced **ReqID** 2408778 **Relocation Package** No
