**Pay Range:** $61,068 - $99,403
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
**Summary:**
As a member of the Rush Marketing Communications team, the marketing specialist will develop and implement service area marketing strategies to generate demand for and increase the reputation of and engagement with clinical services, programs and providers, including Digestive Diseases. The specialist will be responsible for project management of digital, physician and reputation marketing projects. The specialist will collaborate with members of the Marketing Communications team, including staff in Marketing Strategy; Digital and Web Strategy; Brand Strategy & Creative Media; Strategic External Communications and Strategic Internal Communications. The person in this role leads the execution of these strategies and works in close collaboration with clinical service area physicians and administrative leaders and leaders in other areas of Rush – including Strategy, Finance and Knowledge Management. The person in this role is expert in all facets of successful marketing communications implementation – including digital, search engine optimization, direct mail, advertising, social media, videos and other leading-edge marketing tactics. The marketing specialist will also collaborate with vendors and community representatives outside of RUSH to accomplish these objectives. Works occasional off-shift hours and weekends and occasionally off campus for various events. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
• Assists in the marketing planning process for strategic programs, providing client service and marketing support. A primary client will be Digestive Diseases.
• Assists the marketing team by researching and analyzing competitors' marketing.
• Manages implementation of marketing strategies and projects for key services and providers. Audiences include patients, referring physicians, peer physicians, Rush network physicians, service line staff and payors.
• Gathers, monitors and presents data from several sources. Works with the director and senior marketing strategists and analysts to produce reports on the effectiveness of marketing strategy and tactics.
• As needed, works with internal communications team to support engagement initiatives.
• As needed, works with faculty recruitment to support physician recruitment.
• As needed, support key industry events, presentations and societal appointments.
• Minimal, but regular administrative support and additional support when needed.
**Competencies:**
• Excellent communication skills, including a background in editorial style; familiarity with AP style preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels of the organization to promote and gain approval for ideas and plans.
• Strength in critical and strategic thinking.
• Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate with and in some cases convene teams that include participants from other areas of the department and organization to integrate the deliverables of the functions and achieve common goals to successfully support the mission and business objectives of RUSH.

**Required Job Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of three to five years of experience in Marketing or Marketing Communications.
• Exceptional people skills to build effective relationships with colleagues within the medical center, internal, and external clients.
• Works effectively with Rush staff at all levels.
• Exceptional organizational skills and detail-orientation.
• Creativity, resourcefulness, computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.
• Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
• Works occasional off-shift hours and weekends.
**Preferred Job Qualifications:**
• Hospital/medical center experience.
**Physical Demands:**
• Ability to move throughout the Rush
• Ability to lift or carrying objects 35-40 pounds.
