Lidl US is searching for the next Marketing Specialist - Events and Promotions to join our team! The Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in coordinating new store opening events, developing field marketing activities, acquisition of sponsorships and executing companywide marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness in the market. The role operates in close collaboration with the national marketing team to ensure on-time execution of marketing events that uphold brand integrity.
** This position reports to our Headquarters in Arlington, VA on a hybrid 3-day schedule.
• Execute scheduled New Store Openings events and related activations
• Work with various internal departments and external marketing agency to source, develop, plan and execute event activations and partnerships to support business initiatives
• Attend all meetings with external marketing agency to properly plan and execute all marketing activations
• Source sponsorship opportunities. Collaborate with Marketing Manager to Strategize, plan, execute and evaluate sponsorships to track ROI
• Partner with creative team to develop event and brand assets, optimize template designs and ensure assets go to market on-time
• Communicate with external vendors to onboard organizations
• Manage relationships with facilities management and supply chain within each Regional Distribution Center to streamline communication in support of all events and partnerships
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across regional and global stakeholders
• Regularly report status of plan and areas of opportunities to key stakeholders throughout the business to continue to improve and drive brand awareness
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote)
• PowerPoint presentation skills
• Extremely detail oriented with high quality/accuracy and proofreading skills
• Strong organizational skills to set priorities and manage time
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels
• Ability to take constructive criticism and change direction when needed
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
• 3 years of marketing/communications experience preferred; retail experience strongly encouraged
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Experience in experiential marketing
Physical Job Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Travel Requirements
• This position commutes between stores, events and/or distribution centers up to 20% of the time
