Marketing Strategy Assistant **POSITION DETAILS** The CUNY Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) works in partnership with the University’s academic and administrative offices and the 25 colleges to promote CUNY’s unique mission and transformative role as an engine of social mobility. The office includes seven divisions: Communications, Creative, Marketing, Social Media, Multimedia, CUNY TV and Citizenship Now! Together the teams manage all aspects of press and public relations, editorial content, art design, publishing, social media, advertisement, web development, TV, video, and podcast production to tell the story of the premier urban public university in the United States. The CUNY Office of Communications and Marketing has rapidly expanded its advertising operation with current and future CUNY students at the center of all our marketing efforts, including showcasing CUNY’s academic programs, support programs, student life and profiling amazing students and faculty to help boost enrollment and applications. Our primary goal is to target and engage prospective students to help them consider applying or transferring to CUNY, amidst a major decline in enrollment. In order to reach our audiences where they are, we have rapidly expanded our advertising operation using YouTube ads, Google ads, Facebook/Instagram ads, TikTok ads, television commercials, billboards, subway ads, paid print placements, and out-of-home ads across more than a dozen different marketing campaigns. In the coming months, the Office of Communications and Marketing will be launching two subway campaigns, one for Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) to increase student enrollment in ASAP, and one for CUNY Reconnect to help more adult learners come back to college. Additionally, the office is expanding its efforts in engaging alumni network, a new priority outlined in the Chancellor’s “CUNY Lifting New York” strategic roadmap. Given the many new initiatives, and to assist with and ensure the successful completion of these campaigns and projects, the office is seeking a Marketing Strategy Assistant. The Marketing Strategy Assistant will report to the Creative Director and support the office by developing content for marketing campaigns and organizing various special projects. They provide support with web page content, design requests, work with various vendors for purchases as a project manager, building content, copy, headlines, captions, slogans, video scripts for advertisements, flyers, web pages, brochures, and other promotional materials. Additionally, this role will support various aspects of our new alumni initiative, driving social media content development, coordinating events, and assisting with a strategy to market the initiative. The incumbent will help in continuing to increase our marketing efforts, supporting various subentities of CUNY, and assist with continuing efforts to operate at an optimal level with a streamlined workflow and marketing support. Key duties include, but will not be limited to, the following: + Assists with the development and implementation of upcoming ASAP and Reconnect subway campaigns. + Helps research relevant information and background for each campaign. + Identifies amazing students and faculty to profile. + Coordinate and assists with student focus group meetings to draft insights and strategies for campaigns. + Supports research on the latest advertising trends, on our target audiences, and users. + Assists with: + developing user surveys to inform our campaign strategy. + drafting and revising copy for the advertising graphics for each campaign. + Supports the tracking of deliverables and milestones through spreadsheets and other project management tools. + Communicates with clients’ requests on web pages, design, and other similar requests. + Supports new University alumni initiative, responsible for social media content, event coordination, and marketing strategy. **NOTE:** Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. **QUALIFICATIONS** Minimum: Bachelor's degree required. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Supports the creation and maintenance of multimedia communications. - Collaborates with internal and external personnel to develop multimedia concepts to communicate key messages - Creates content utilizing one or more types of media (e.g., photography, video, audio, and web technologies) - Coordinates pre-production, production and post-production activities - Designs, edits, and uploads content to internal and external sites and programs - Maintains archives, materials, and project documentation - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Assistant to HEO **FLSA** Non-exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** The salary range for this position is **$54,268 - $57,517** , commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
