Marking Center Supervisor

Position Title - Marking Centre Operations Supervisor
Reports to  - Director of IT Services 
Location - Nunawading, Melbourne 
Status - Full time
Work Type - Onsite
Direct Reports  - Casual marking staff

Purpose of the role

Coordinate and oversee the operation of the marking center and all marking activities.Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for marking operations.Recruit, train, and manage casual staff for professional marking projects, marking center support, and help desk operations.Ensure all marking projects are executed with the highest quality standards and completed within established timelines.Provide regular progress reports and support the Project Team as needed.Organize the recruitment process and assist in managing expert marking and invigilation projects.Supervise helpdesk operations and ensure efficient issue resolution.Develop training guides and facilitate user training sessions on marking operations. 

Key Accountabilities

Marking Operations

Manage marking operations for each project from initiation to completion, including preparing project schedules, allocating space, resources, and support functions.Recruit and train staff to support marking operations.Oversee the recruitment and training of markers (Professional and/or Expert), including supervisors and senior markers.Supervise teams of markers and senior markers, including creating rosters, approving timesheets, and conducting training and inductions.Ensure all marking projects adhere to schedules while maintaining required quality standards.Monitor marking progress through reports, adjust schedules as necessary, and ensure all quality requirements are met.Contribute to post-project reviews and recommend improvements.Establish and maintain procedures for all projects.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security policies at all times.Undertake additional duties related to the daily operations of marking projects as required.

Adapting to frequent changes and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.Managing the complexities of supervising casual staff with diverse backgrounds and needs.

Candidate Experience, qualifications and skillset

Essential

Relevant office experience in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and resources effectively.High proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.Demonstrated experience handling confidential matters with discretion.Proven ability to work independently with high levels of ownership, attention to detail, initiative, and multitasking.Experience managing requests from a diverse range of internal stakeholders.

Desirable

Previous experience in high volume staff management.Experience in the education sector.

Additional Information

Some after-hours and weekend work may be required during peak periods.Availability to travel interstate or overseas for up to four weeks at a time.
