Marsh McLennan Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our People Function team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Bermuda, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three to four days a week in the office.

As a Marsh McLennan Human Resources Manager, your role will involve coaching, supporting, and advising People Managers to enhance the quality of people management throughout the employee lifecycle. This position has a significant and positive influence on the overall colleague experience at Marsh McLennan. You will play a crucial role in the deployment and adoption of new processes or initiatives aimed at People Managers, and also provide valuable insights to the Centers of Expertise (CoE), which help shape the development and prioritization of initiatives, programs, and projects designed for both colleagues and People Managers.

We will count on you to:

Be a part of the People Function, which is responsible for the deployment of enterprise-wide HR programs and initiativesProvide guidance and support to People Managers across the full range of activities in the HR portfolio, including:Colleague performance management, skills and competence development and learningThis may include supporting implementation of colleague training or mentoring programCommunications, change management, and organizational effectivenessCompensation, benefits and total rewards including during the year end process which includes coaching People Managers on discussions about performance and reward discussionsWellbeing, including managing the local delivery of wellness related programsLeave, absence and related topics including coordinating with workforce administration team for return-to-work accommodations and logisticsInclusion and diversity awareness and considerationsEmployee relations matters including investigations, performance improvement processes, disciplinary actions, grievances, etc. – the HR Manager will engage with the Employee Relations CoE for advice and supportCareer development including succession planning and mobility internally.Provide guidance and support to People Managers and Talent Acquisition COE for recruitment activities is Bermuda, Barbados, and the Cayman IslandsOversee delivery of all mobility activity and liaise with colleague and mobility vendor to ensure a successful relocationSupport all immigration matters for Bermuda, Barbados, and the Cayman IslandsSupport, and from time to time, take responsibility for coordinating the rollout and delivery of HR programs and contribute to process improvementsProvide oversight and as needed, engage in pension and benefits administration processes liaising with Global Benefits, HR Services, Finance, and VendorsDuring organizational restructuring activities, coordinate necessary activity to support HR Managers, People Managers, and affected colleagues including planning and execution of changes affecting roles or terms of employmentEnsure that regulatory and statutory obligations are discharged locally including statutory and/or regulatory reporting requirements

What you need to have: 

4+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably with international exposure2+ years of experience with pension and benefits administration2+ years of experience with immigration, visas, and global mobility matters (end to end)Experience managing immigration cases within Bermuda, Grand Cayman and BarbadosStrong understanding of employment legislation and regulations in Bermuda, Cayman Islands and BarbadosAbility to operate without supervision in most situations, with the discernment to seek guidance from appropriate colleagues or experts when faced with complex issuesExperienced in supporting managers with employee relation matters, including investigationsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to connect with colleagues in business and in wider HR including Centers of Excellence and People Partners when requiredAbility to build relationships with management and colleagues, and adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tactStrong proficiency with the MS Office Suite and enthusiasm for learning new skills as needed
