Master Carpenter (Shreinermeister)

POSITION SUMMARY

 

*This position is located full time in Wiesbaden, Germany, and is currently under bid*

 

As the certified Master Carpenter (Schreinermeister), you will be responsible for accomplishing tasks like measuring, cutting, and shaping wood to construct building frameworks, install fixtures like doors and windows, build cabinets, floors, and walls, following blueprints to ensure structures meet safety regulations and client needs, all while utilizing hand and power tools to assemble and fasten materials together.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reading and interpreting blueprints: Understanding construction plans to accurately build structures. Measuring and marking: Precisely measuring wood to ensure proper fit and cutting. Cutting and shaping wood: Using various tools like saws, planers, and routers to cut and shape wood according to design. Joining wood pieces: Creating joints like mortise and tenon, dowel joints, or lap joints to connect wood pieces securely. Assembling structures: Building frameworks for walls, floors, ceilings, and doorframes. Installing fixtures: Installing doors, windows, trim, molding, and cabinetry. Finishing work: Sanding, staining, and painting wood surfaces to achieve a desired finish. Repair and maintenance: Fixing damaged wood structures and components. Ensure all work areas remain safe and clean. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate of tradesmen for Master Carpenter (Schreinermeister) Proven experience as a certified Master Carpenter (Schreinermeister) Able to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Knowledge of German carpentry codes and regulations. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Valid driver's license. Fluency in German and English.
