Position Description:
This position serves as the primary point of responsibility, accountability and activity for the assessment, improvement and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of an organization's critical data assets. Data stewards are not owners of the data but rather serve as trustees to ensure adequate data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes. Engages with business leadership to quantify and articulate the business impact of data quality issues. Assesses the current state of data quality within their scope of responsibility. Establishes target goals for data quality improvement and identifies optimal approaches for resolving data quality issues to achieve targets. Works within and beyond area of control to implement improvement approaches. Identifies data quality metrics and executes data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality. Monitors, tracks and reports ongoing data quality levels.
This goal of this position is to reduce business costs and efforts by assuring product data issues are minimized.
Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:
+ First-level support on product data issues or requests
+ Implement processes/procedures for creation and maintenance of product data
+ Data quality audits/validation
+ Generate/propose solutions which improve data value and governance, and enhance the use of system capabilities
+ Owner of change that drives process standardization
+ Will work cross-functionally with product management, supply chain, and marketing
+ Develop metrics and daily work systems to assure quality of data, and completeness of data
Education, computer aptitude, experience requirements:
+ Accreditation or experience in master data management, content management, or related field
+ Self-motivated and driven: Willingness to take on more and get involved as needed
+ Experience working with high volume, detailed data in a high accuracy environment
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Excel skills or experience working in JD Edwards a plus
