Master Data Management Business Architect

The Master Data Management team within Enterprise Data & Analytics is looking for an MDM Business Architect.  The Master Data Management team is accountable for all data mastered, aggregated, and delivered regarding clients and key relationships.  This may include custodian feeds , external vendor data/reporting feeds, and benchmark data.  The Business Architect will work cross functionally across the organization to solve complex problems and improve data quality in MDM. Will support the MDM to ensure data is defined, classified, managed, and protected in accordance with Northern Trust Policies and Standards as well as external expectations. Primary focus of the business architect is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring data quality, governance, and accessibility across the organization.

Major Duties:

Data Governance Strategy Execution: Assist in the development and execution of master data and data governance strategies in line with organizational goals and data architecture. This includes providing feedback on data standards, policies, and procedures.Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to define and implement MDM strategies.Ensures that MDM Solution integrate seamlessly with existing business processes and systems and collaborate with existing programs to identify improvement to both data and business processes.Serve as a Product Owner for one of the MDM Data Products and facilitate enhanced collaboration with both business and technology stakeholders for the delivery of the productMetrics and Reporting: Define metrics and KPIs for the data product and contribute to developing metrics and reports to measure the success of master data initiatives and support in providing updates to senior management.Data Training: Leverage knowledge in data management to contribute to team training and development, ensuring up-to-date practices in data governance.  Leverage specific knowledge on master data to ensure data consumers are knowledgeable on data usage.Tools and Technology Management: Engage in the operation and management of data governance tools and technologies  keeping updated with new capabilities and utilizing.Support: Collaborate with teams across the various divisions to ensure comprehensive integration of master data management practices across the organization.Lead MDM initiatives and oversee implementation of releases, including timelines, budgets, resources. Coordinate with project managers to ensure deliverables sign with business expectations

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of business processes and master data domains (ex: party, account, product etc.)Strong experience in MDM platformsKnowledge in implementing data quality and data governance principles on master dataCapable of engaging senior leadership with business, operations, and technologyPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsPossess proven facilitation and conflict resolution skillsPossess exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilitiesCapable of driving enterprise-wide initiatives to improve data integrity and complianceCapable of addressing data issues proactively

Experience:

A College or University degree and/or equivalent data governance work experience is required.5+ years’ experience in Business Architecture, Data Governance or Data Management.

Salary Range:

$95,600 - 162,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
