Role description: The Global MDM Manager (“BPE”) will drive the implementation of the Global Master Data Management (MDM), which is a key part of the Data Strategy in Arcadis. This role will lead the Master Data Management (MDM) team and ensure consistency across all aspects of governance and process.

Role accountabilities:

The Global MDM Manager is responsible to ensure effective management and governance of master data assets in accordance with the Global Data Strategy.

The position is responsible for leading the design and delivery of master data management policies and practices across Arcadis. 

Work closely with the Data teams to define the master data sets for Arcadis and the governance associated with each dataset. Implement Master Data Management Software as required by the Data Strategy. Establish common business processes to drive data consistency; working with functional teams in setting the policies and procedures to measure and improve master data quality; designing and managing a data governance program that is aligned with the Data Strategy.  Identify strategic opportunities to improve data quality in critical processes and management practices while leveraging global business resources and technology resources.  Collaborate with business process owners to define data quality requirements and metrics; and ensure there are processes and business rules in place to achieve them.

MDM Process Design

Define the MDM approach to comply with Arcadis’ Data Strategy. Develop, manage and implement  all policies, procedures and work instructions related to MDM. Ensure process documentation remains up to date over time. Collaborate with BPOs, BPEs and SMEs across multiple functions to ensure process documentation is fit for purpose and aligns with Arcadis Data Strategy.

MDM Process Delivery 

Coordinate and oversee the delivery of MDM policies, procedures and work instructions. Lead implementation of MDM as part of Arcadis’ Data strategy. Ensure governance is applied consistently across all MDM teams.

Leading MDM Centralized Team

Direct line management of the central MDM team, including hiring, performance management, resource allocation etc. Maintaining service standards in line with agreed KPI’s and Service Delivery Model.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Single point of expertise for all MDM related topics, representing the discipline in cross-functional initiatives. Supporting BPOs in strategic decision-making in relation to MDM. 

Key Shared Accountabilities

Support the accountable BPO with developing and refining the Master Data Management processes, identifying opportunities to improve wherever possible. Engage with Technology function to agree system requirements to support MDM function as defined in the Data Strategy. Work with broader Business Process Ownership community and Quality function to ensure alignment of MDM with other processes. Work with business functions and leadership to ensure MDM meets their needs and enables value-add.

Qualifications & Experience:

Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and 10+ years of experience in master data, management technology, finance and another related field. Strong knowledge of business process Master Data (across multiple data categories) and systems development. Proven experience developing MDM policy and processes for a large organization, and managing teams to deliver service outcomes in line with performance metrics. Capability to work and think globally, coordinating multiple local requirements. Excellent stakeholder management skills - ability to work with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to realize Arcadis’ ambitions. Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Language including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization.
