About this opportunity:
Signal Integrity Engineers are working with a group of System and HW engineers to develop Ericsson's products, and responsible for digital signal integrity, power integrity design and analysis to ensure a stable high-volume producible design at low cost. We provide SI related guidelines for PCB layout, hardware interface configuration and FPGA interface design. We also take part in the cutting-edge SI technology research and make contribution in the international conferences. This position will give you a significant opportunity to develop and demonstrate your technical skills and ideas.
What you will do:
· Working with system design team to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize design performance/risk/cost/manufacturability
· Design and analysis high speed serial links and their compliance to standards, including characterization, optimization, and correlation.
· Performing DDR5 signal integrity design and timing analysis
· PDN DC/AC/Transient analysis, including decoupling capacitors selection and placement, also power plane optimization.
· Performing SI/PI lab measurements and verification, and correlate simulations with measurements.
· Develop SI/PI design guidelines for PCB and deliver SI design/verification reports on time with high quality.
· Work as project SI team leader, cooperate with SI engineers and related functions, contribute to project success.
· Lead innovation and research and contribute to SI methodology and working method.
The skills you bring:
· Master’s degree or above with 7+ years’, Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years’ working experiences in SI/PI area, HW system design experience is preferred.
· Deep knowledge on transmission line theory, electromagnetic field theory and time & frequency domain analysis.
· Experiences on High Speed NRZ and PAM4 Serdes link design, including passive and active, understanding FFE/CTLE/DFE/CDR/FEC technologies.
· Solid knowledge of IEEE802.3 and OIF-CEI specification for 10Gbps/25Gbps/56Gbps/112Gbps Serdes interfaces, have experience on channel loss budget distribution.
· Have a good understanding on PCB stackup, material, manufacturing variations, and design tradeoff between cost and performance.
· Working knowledge of system level power integrity and budgeting, including DC, AC and transient.
· Experience of DDR4/DDR5 design on signal quality optimization, timing analysis and correlation.
· Experiences of using IBIS, IBIS-AMI, Spice and S-parameter models
· Experiences with major SI/PI tools: SiSoft, Sigrity, ADS, HFSS, CST, Hspice, Hyperlynx etc.
· Lab measurement experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, TDR and VNA.
· Self-motivation, curious and out of the box thinking with strong desire to innovate are essential, having interest to investigate new technology & areas
· Strong teamwork and excellent communication skills, and good project management skills.
· Fluent verbal communications in both Chinese and English. Solid English written skills on design documentation and report.
