Where You Will Work
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description Under general supervision, assists in providing operational and technical advice and guidance for designated mobile crane support group at assigned sites. Assist in the development and training of employees in mobile crane operationsAssist in the planning and preparation for scheduled jobsAssist site management by actively participating in the company's safety programs, including behavioral audits, JSA's, SOP's, Near Miss Reporting, Metals and other programs determined by managementAssist management in complying with policies and procedures and environmental complianceUnderstand cost control and assist in the development of department operating maintenance and capital budgetsParticipate in the mentoring process for all new Mobile Crane Operators and ApprenticesServe as a member on the selection panel for Certified/Master Mobile Crane OperatorsPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Journeyman Maintenance Technician/Mobile Crane Operator certification or license and Completion of an Apprenticeship Program and four (4) years of experience as a Mechanical Mobile Crane Operator in a related industrial maintenance/construction field working on a large mobile crane (150 ton and greater capacity), ORAssociate's degree in a Mechanical field or closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Journeyman Mechanical Mobile Crane Operator in a related industrial maintenance/construction field working on a large mobile crane (150 ton and greater capacity)Passed the Certified Crane Operator Practical examCandidate shall pass the Hands-on testCompleted DDI and TEAMS training or equivalentMust have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Extensive experience in and knowledge ofrigging procedures, cable reeling and crane load testingExtensive experience with and knowledge of mobile crane preventative maintenance practices and inspection proceduresWorking knowledge of Hydraulic equipmentProficient in the use of Microsoft applications and advanced computer skillsSkills and ability to work in an environment with minimal directionAbility to pass an annual physical (to include color recognition and depth perception)Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, blueprints and schematics for trouble shooting and repair in EnglishAbility and willingness to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime at a 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year operation.Possess a good safety and attendance recordAbility to show up to work as required and on timeMust be eligible for transfer/promotion as per the Guiding Principles (internal candidates)

What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $29.00 - $39.50 hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
