Position Profile:
This position is responsible for creating and managing a master production schedule in support of both actual sales order and forecasted demand. The Master Scheduler drives all planning activities to optimize workflow and production capacity required to support on-time production and development order deliveries. These activities include, but are not limited to, analyzing backlog and Business Development forecasts, managing work orders to support MRP and non MRP requirements, product development, follow through on all non¬conforming material matters and the timely and accurate processing, follow up, rescheduling of all work orders and system maintenance.
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities: Create, implement, manage and monitor the long- and short-term production schedules to meet capacity and optimize efficiencies. Collaborate with production and Purchasing teams to ensure materials and resources are aligned with production schedules, expediting as well as pushing out material as needed to achieve inventory level targets. Manage work order material flow from inception through completion, troubleshooting any discrepancies immediately with a common goal of correcting the problems, ensuring and timely completion of production orders. Manage component shortages to resolution. Work closely with all functional areas of the business. Measure performance of all critical factors to ensure compliance to plans to include publishing of KPI’s. Lead issue resolution when products are behind schedule or at risk of being behind schedule. Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing and management to provide timely status of work products and / or problem identification and resolution. Maintain ERP system integrity to drive material and production schedules and execute processes per requirements. Maintain ERP system parameters including material master data and performance criteria. Own customer service performance of assigned products and resources.
Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 7 + years planning/scheduling in fast pace mixed product manufacturing environment, including master scheduling experience. High level of experience with and understanding of MRP systems, planning and scheduling activities and best practices. Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc. Strong computer literacy, with Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills CPIM/CSCP highly desired. Must be a US Citizen Additional Duties / Responsibilities: Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required). Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements. Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals Assist in the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks (as directed) Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
Work Environment: This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc. This is a full-time position. Overtime and weekend work could be required as job duties demand. Travel is not expected for this position Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Vision and color vision must pass job-required vision screening The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
