REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Master Scientist Population Health Research  in Winston Salem, NC

This role will contribute to the development of strategies and advocacy efforts as they relate to FDA engagement on regulatory science, in particular social and behavioral science. In this position, the individual will collaborate, and if required, lead projects and programs related to behavioral science survey research to support regulatory submissions for current and future market products. Additionally, this position will contribute to scientific insights in relation to the business’ tobacco harm reduction vision.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Collaborate and/or lead the development of survey instruments, protocols, analysis plans, statistical analyses, and interpretation and review of findings of internal and external survey-based dataScientific insights to influence regulatory science strategyProject management across multiple projects with internal and external stakeholdersProviding insight into scientific study design and data interpretation across a variety of social and behavioral scientific disciplinesEstablishing cross-functional collaborations across internal and external stakeholdersRegulatory science engagement through publications, conference presentations, and external collaborationsRegulatory writing and scientific and regulatory engagement

What are we looking for?

Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in chemistry, biology, toxicology, pharmacology, clinical or social science, or other relevant disciplineMinimum of 5 years relevant scientific experience resulting in a thorough knowledge of concepts, principles and strategic relevanceExperience working in a regulated industry, such as tobacco/nicotine, pharmaceutical, and/or medical deviceDemonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projectsStrong organizational, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with other functions within (and external to) the Company and excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skillsStrong ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to ambiguous or complex scientific challengesExperience conducting survey studies, including development of sampling plans, survey instruments, and analytic approachesProgramming experience in SAS (Desirable)
