What You Will Do
Pratt & Whitney’s Puerto Rico Core Systems Design organization is looking for a motivated Master Technician to make plans, lays-out and drawings, and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, references, and data. Inspects and implements engineering changes in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems. Identifies scaling, inserts necessary reference datums, center and dimension lines. The Master Technician will apply technical principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications and customer requirements. Manages Team Center, NX, Catia, BOM structures, data transfer, database, design, and drafting services under minimal supervision. Travel for this role is up to 10%
Under minimal supervision, performs high complexity tasks.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
Manipulation/creation of 3D part models in our current graphics software and manipulation/creation of engineering drawings associated to those models.
Creation of graphically driven engine level assemblies and Bill of Materials using our current graphics software (NX, Catia).
Understand, apply, and interpret Geometric Form Control to ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards under immediate supervision.
Review models/prints to meet PD EKS requirements, which includes the application of tolerancing techniques while considering producibility and overall design intent.
Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement.
Create, own, and maintain updated all training material, work procedures and lessons learned database.
Check and/or release graphically driven engine level assemblies using NX and Teamcenter software.
Attend technical meetings and assist subject matter experts to create and maintain system level assemblies and related configurations.
Support Core Discipline Engineering community initiatives.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications You Must Have
AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) and 10 years of drafting experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
5 years of Digital Mockup experience
10 years of CAD modeling
Qualifications We Prefer
5 years of Proficient in GD&T
5 years of NX modelling knowledge
5 years of Experience with large assemblies
