Now is a great time to join Danfoss as a Master Technician, Test Lab located in our Ames, IA facility. The Master Technician will be recognized as a technical expert in the execution of hydraulic product tests and be a key contributor in the validation efforts for both new and current products. This position requires extensive experience with hydraulics, instrumentation, and laboratory testing.
Job Responsibilities
· Execute test requests, including setup and troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems.
· Collect test data using a variety of sensors and data acquisition equipment.
· Interpret and document test results.
· Lead high-impact test lab projects with minimal guidance.
· Coach and mentor other lab technicians and engineers.
· Champion safety within the test lab by proactively identifying and correcting potential hazards.
· Perform maintenance on test lab equipment.
· Provide recommendations on improvements to test specifications and lab processes.
Background & Skills
Required (basic) qualifications
· 8+ years of experience with testing hydraulic systems.
· Expert level understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition.
· Expert level understanding and ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
· Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electronic schematics.
· Application knowledge of hydraulic systems.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize common shop tools.
Preferred qualifications
· Associate degree in Fluid Power Technology.
· IFPS fluid power certifications.
· Prior Experience with Dewesoft data acquisition.
· Prior Experience with Siemens PLCs.
· Knowledge of Danfoss Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, and Transmissions.
