Our exciting thesis!
Aggregation of frequency carriers is important to increase throughput and service performance for subscribers in mobile networks. Carrier aggregation provides the scheduler with degree of freedom to distribute traffic over multiple carriers. As the number of carriers, device capability, and traffic characteristics are getting increasingly diverse, it is instrumental to understand how these aspects impact the performance.

The objective of the Master Thesis is to implement, optimize and evaluate resource allocation and scheduling algorithms for carrier aggregation. This includes taking real-world constraints into account, such as traffic characteristics. Example analysis is to evaluate how centimeter wave can improve the performance of 6G.

What you will do:

-    Simulation based implementation of resource allocation and scheduling with carrier aggregation.
-    Thesis report documenting the work with the design and evaluation of the implementation.

The skills you bring:

-    Education in Electrical Engineering, or similar. Please attach transcript of records.
-    Courses in digital/wireless communications.
-    Experience of 5G wireless communication systems is valuable merit.
-    Great programming skills in Matlab and Python.
-    Great communication skills, verbal and writing.
-    Problem-solving mindset and enthusiasm for learning new skills and collaborate.
