Testing is a core part of software development, but good testing methodologies are often overlooked. Poor testing can lead to severe consequences if bad code and data slip into production. We want you to experiment and evaluate practical the test methodologies in the data engineering domain, and specifically for telecommunication data. We believe that two main methods are of interest: property-based testing and language-based proofs.
What you will do
Potential questions may include:
How many archetypical concerns are addressed conveniently with these test methods? What proportion of the codebase and development effort can be simplified using these methods? How do these test methods impact software design? Do the test methods gain effectiveness if new design patterns are adopted in the main code? How do these test methods compare to other methods in terms of practicality and system complexity?Potential Process Path:
Implement a framework for defining test data and/or data generators for telecommunication data. This tool may help institutionalize knowledge about tricky edge cases.Use established clustering algorithms to develop small test datasets with representative coverage of the production dataset.
You will bring
Ongoing Msc in Computer Science or equivalentPython SkillsExperience/Interest in testing Fluent in spoken and written EnglishExperience in data structures and algorithms, functional programming, formal methods, language-based verification, and large-scale data
