You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.
Our Research topic
The mission focuses on the forefront of technologies and contributes to the decarbonization of aviation. It is an opportunity to shape and resolve the techno bricks of future high temperature ceramic fuel cell technologies for aircraft application. Research on innovative Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) by answering complex challenges in a multi-functional context, using the latest technologies and equipment.
We are looking for a Student (d/f/m) to join our Fuel Cell research team at Airbus Central Research & Technology in the domain of Electrification Technologies for a Master Thesis.
The student should be enthusiastic in working in the chemistry lab with a strong background in chemistry, ceramic coating technology and electrochemistry.

Your tasks and responsibilities
The subject of this thesis is to participate in SOFC research. You will have the opportunity to work with coating technologies, material and electrochemical characterization techniques:
Tailoring the electrical conductivity property of electrode materials
Coating techniques
Analyzing the morphology and electrical properties of metals and cermets (metal and ceramic composites)
Desired skills and qualifications
Enrolled Master student (d/f/m) within chemistry, material science or similar field of study
Experience in working in chemistry lab, especially handling materials & characterization
techniques
Knowledge on ceramic, polymer, metal materials and electrochemistry
Skills in slurry optimization, thin film coating, infiltration technique and electrical
characterizations is a plus
Excellent analytical and research skills
English: fluent
You are a good team player, have good communication skills, and are able to work Independently.
