Master Thesis (d/f/m) on 5G/6G Non-Terrestrial Networks Positioning

Start: as soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
You will join the department on Future Navigation Programs at Airbus Defence and Space. The department is pioneering navigation systems and technologies to enable accurate, reliable and resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT).
You will acquire an in-depth insight into PNT concepts and solutions within 5G/6G non-terrestrial networks (NTN), in order to exploit first-of-a-kind navigation demonstrators for the exploration of prototype NTN positioning solutions from concept to experimentation.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Research on navigation concepts and algorithms for next-generation 5G/6G non-terrestrial networks (NTN).
Development of advanced signal processing algorithms for NTN positioning using Python and C++.
Experiments using software-defined radio (SDR) on existing 5G/6G NTN demonstrators.
Desired skills and qualifications
Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication
Engineering, Navigation or similar field of study.
You have a solid understanding of the principles of navigation receivers, a strong interest in signal processing and/or navigation, and a basic knowledge of 5G networks.
You are familiar with software-defined radio and have experience with signal processing of field recordings.
You are comfortable in programming languages for developing algorithms and techniques (Python/C++) targeting real-time operations.
You are fluent in English.
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently
