About this opportunity:

 

Product Engineering Unit Radio drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Hardware Engineering, of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson’s strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio.

 

Radio Systems & Technology drives radio product and technology evolution, high level systemization, architecture definition, standardization, mid- and long-term development plans, and long-term product plans (products and features) for PEU Radio.

We are growing our organization with skilled persons with various experiences in Radio System and Architecture. We are searching for people who are eager to join us on our journey to build something truly exciting!

In our department Radio Architecture at Radio System and Technology we are seeking a Master Thesis Student to work on Radio Energy Performance within the whole Radio Access Network, particularly considering the upcoming 6G standard with all the opportunities it may bring to significantly improve energy efficiency of future mobile network.

 

 


What you will do
 

· Work with 5G/6G Radio Access Network simulations considering radio HW aspects.

· Analise results and impact on Radio energy consumption.

· Identify improvements needed in both RAN SW and Radio HW



You will bring
 

· Genuine interest and curiosity about mobile networks.

· Great communication skills.

· Team-spirit mentality to reach common goals together with your team.

· A positive mindset.

· Basic knowledge on RF power amplifiers, antennas, radio channels, power consumption

· Proficiency in algorithm coding and system simulations (Python/Matlab/C++, etc.)

· Excellent speaking and writing skills in English.

· Experience in radio energy efficiency and network simulation tools is a plus
