At the device communication research organization within Ericsson we develop new concepts and solutions based on 5G and its evolution towards 6G. In our lab, we evaluate and test different technology areas such as sensing over communication signals, energy efficient device-to-device communication, etc. using software defined radio units and different RF components.
We are looking for a student with communication interest to support our lab activities and to develop and perform evaluations of new features towards the evolution of 6G. The development of new communication features will be conducted in collaboration with our researchers, focusing on future device modem capabilities within areas such as sensing using communication signals and/or device-to-device communication.
Design a passive retro-reflector (Van Atta arrays) antenna operating at high frequency.Requires simulation and verification leading to fabrication of the device.Explore the geometric topology and configuration.Final objective of the project is to be able to test the performance of the fabricated HW in an over the air environment via integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) waveforms, e.g., OFDM.You will bring
Final year master's student in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar with elector magnetics background.Genuine interest in wireless communication and antenna design.Experience in antenna design tools, HFSS/CST.Some knowledge of using MATLAB.Eager to learn, ambitious, having an innovative mentality as well as being a true standout colleague.Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication.
Based on the scope, this thesis could be carried out by one student.
