Full TimeJob Summary: Reporting to the Department Director, The Material Control Coordinator maintains appropriate levels and maintenance of materials stocked within the department. Assures availability of supplies needed to satisfy requirements of internal/external customers.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: 3 - 4 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates in depth working knowledge of Centricity and inventory systems and transactions. Proficient PC skills as required for inventory transactions, data entry, selecting and executing reports and analyzing data. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintains inventory system. Enter patient charges and verifies quantities. Maintain appropriate inventory levels. Order specialty items from Central Stores. Performs operational functions on the CRT. Daily inventory issues. Monitor and report on cost and flow of inventory. Assess monthly revenue reports for correct cost and pricing. Monitors vendor contracts to verify conditions are being met. Assists as receptionist and secretary during times of need. Scheduling patients and properly notifying staff and doctors of scheduling changes. Editing and entering time entries. Supports unit/hospital goals through QA and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets department education standards. Accurately completes any variance reports. Modifies behavior or performance to comply with care standards and meets departments requirements.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships: Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
