Material Coord (ISSA)

The ISSA Material Coordinator, under the supervision of the supervisor, receives, reviews accuracy and validity of shipping request and expedites flow of freight to determine shipping schedule and mode of transportation. Responsibilities Major Responsibilities: The Material Coordinator will have knowledge of operational policies, procedures, and logistics goals. Perform requisitioning and receiving procedures of repair parts, supplies and equipment utilizing Army automated computer programs GCSS-Army. Reviews transportation shipping request for accuracy and determine mode of transportation. Examines freight and material to be classified as hazardous or non-hazardous. Move or transport material from one location to another using hand truck, industrial truck or forklift Segregates and consolidate freight by type and classification in accordance with final destination. Examines material delivered to warehouse department to verify invoice receipt. On occasions examines material delivered to report damages. Re-pack material and containers in accordance with specify regulations as part of the Stock Readiness Program. May compile report of quantity and type of material on hand. Manages wood inventory as a requirement for the Wood Packaging Material Program. Packs and palletized material to be weighted, shrink wrapped, and label for outbound shipping. Must be familiarized with computers to be able to research and access information pertaining to material packaging. Any other duties assigned. Works with a framework of established supply regulation, policies, and procedures an in the resolution of issues encountered in the process Performs duties involving request, receipt, storage, issue, accountability and the preservation of Authorized Stock Listing (ASL). Reviews all authorized documents daily. Perform clerical and physical work daily Conducts inventories including preparations, documentation, and reporting per prescribed regulations Identifies equipment status to include completeness, serviceability, and accountability Maintains the automated supply system for accounting of organizational property and equipment. Inspects completed transactions/work for accuracy and compliance with established policy and procedures. Working Environment: Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas. Work is performed in a warehouse environment. Work requires prolonged standing at a packing table, use of heavy lifting equipment, scales, and shrink wrapping machine. Dirt, dust, is always present. Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays under pressure and strenuous conditions. Duties may involve the conduct of work in the out of outdoors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. 50 lbs. assisted. Must be able to operate in a warehouse and outdoor type environment. Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites and withstand prolonged periods of standing for 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties. Work requires continuous walking, standing and sitting. Material & Equipment Used: Forklift, Pallet Jack and any other MHE equipment. Extensive use of a desktop computer and multi-functional device. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Valid State Driver's License without restrictions. Must be able to secure and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be able to pass a pre- employment drug screen. Experience: Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations. Four (4) years or more forklift experience. Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism. Must have technical experience and comprehensive knowledge of Government regulations, policies, procedures and supervisor role Must have comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and equipment management processes, related regulation, and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property Ability to prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and interact at all levels. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment. Capacity to work well under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures. Work requires extensive interaction with customer. Must comply with published Company work rules.
