Material Coordinator

Responsibilities: 

Responsible for assuring that materials are available and / or staged for assembly per SWIP standards.  Investigates material shortages with the objective to resolve problems prior to line impact.  Collects data to problem solve recurring issues, works to develop corrective actions.   Provides planning support to production and management with the goal of preventing rejects or line stoppage due to outages. Contribution

The role plays a vital role in ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production operations by managing material planning activities. Has a direct impact on ensuring the plant has access to the inputs, materials and goods it needs for its current and future operations. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.

Communication

Interacts frequently with internal contacts (such as production planners, material planners and functional managers) to resolve challenging delivery requirements. Will coordinate deliveries of internal parts when needed.

Dimension

Operates within a single plant. Has the responsibility of coordinating the arrival of material to the line from warehouse and sub assembly areas.  Investigating and reporting material shortages, working with appropriate people to get correct materials or deviations.



Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree – Preferred Computer skills required, Microsoft office
Key Competencies:Clear written and verbal communication skills, quickly adapts to a changing environment.  Proficient in Microsoft with using data to create pareto charts that will prioritize problem solving.  Experience in manufacturing leadership, warehousing or material management. Oracle knowledge or similar warehouse software. The ability to lift 40lb, to be mobile, sit, or stand for multiple hours at a time.
