Job Summary:
Act as the focal point for acquisition, scheduling, marshalling and distribution of services, spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to keep plant and facility assets operating safely at optimal levels of cost and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews work orders, notes the needs for services, spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment, and supplies. Identifies the sources and availability for services and materials whether internal (CMMS / Warehouse) or external.
Communicates the availability of required materials and services to the Operations Maintenance Gatekeeper, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Work Coordinator, or other material requestor; identifies potential deficiencies vs. request date.
Jointly updates the work order need date as required, selects appropriate transport methods based on priority.
Submits requisitions for any standard priced / available materials utilizing preferred vendors to ensure contract pricing while complying with material standards.
For non-standard priced / available materials < $TBD, gathers quotes, creates purchase requisitions, and submits to Procurement for ordering.
For non-standard priced / available materials > $TBD, gathers quotes, creates requests for materials, obtains signatures, and submits to Procurement for ordering.
Creates bid waivers for sole source purchases, obtains approvals, and submits to Procurement for ordering.
For outside service work, may work with the Contract Administrator to verify contractors have been approved.
Stages any required materials and confirms service provider availability prior to the work order being scheduled.
Provides requisitioning support for requirements outside of Maintenance: Operations supplies, small projects, etc.
Submits all invoices for processing.
Tracks delivery progress vs. required delivery date until receipt. Expedites when approaching required delivery date or progress is behind schedule.
Works with Warehouse to support the protection of materials by closing, re-nailing, re-banding or otherwise securing boxes, crates, cartons, and bundles and / or applying weatherproof compounds, wrapping, greasing, oiling, and covering with weather-resistant materials as applicable.
Performs kitting process for spare parts, consumables, materials, equipment, and supplies for planned daily work and projects.
Manages the Warehouse Kitting area to maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices in the area.
Manages the Kitting Shelves area by ensuring that jobs are active and up-to date per the schedule.
Executes emergency requisitioning for emergency jobs, including after hours.
Supports shipping needs related to the Repair and Return process as applicable.
Operates forklifts and other materials handling equipment as required.
Updates material status in SAP and communicates to Planner, Scheduler, Engineers, Operations, etc. as appropriate on the status of their request.
Works with the Work Coordinator in re-stocking kitted material that was not used on a job by sending back to Stores.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
3years of experience within an industrial plant in a maintenance or reliability role.
Knowledge of SAP/CMMS requisition system and store inventory master systems.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to successfully interface with various stakeholders (procurement, work coordinators, maintenance planners, stores/warehouse, suppliers etc.).
Detailed knowledge of maintenance work process (planning, scheduling, logistics, etc.).
Demonstrates good organizational techniques to deal with the large volume of work, the complexity of some jobs, and the limited resources available during some periods.
Good computer skills and experience with MS Office and Outlook programs.
Considered A Plus:
Experience and knowledge with mechanical, process, instrumentation and electrical hardware, identification, and their uses.
Experience in SAP S4/Hana, specifically related to the PM and Inventory modules, Purchase Requisitions, and Purchase Orders.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing/able to work in a plant environment and occasionally outdoors in inclement weather. Willing/able to work off hours/weekends, as required.
