PCSI is looking for a Materials Coordinator in Granite City, Illinois! Prepare documentation for hazardous materials to be packed, stored, and shipped including the visual assessment of their physical condition and their quantity, size, and specialized handling or storage requirements. This position will report to the Project Manager and is based at Granite City in Illinois. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:30am-3:30pm.

What You'll Do as Transportation Specialist I:

As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the established storage plan while performing a wide variety of standard and specialized preservation and/or packing work. Prepare documentation for hazardous materials to be packed, stored, and shipped including the visual assessment of their physical condition and their quantity, size, and specialized handling or storage requirements. Works with a high degree of independence in determining the methods and techniques to preserve and/or pack a wide variety of standard and non-standard items. Knowledge of overall warehouse procedures as well as specialized procedures to safely handle, pack, store, label, and ship hazardous materials. Manage, inspect and monitor record materials inventory. Handle and process maintenance requests and work orders Consistently practice safety while using material handling equipment while storing supplies; promotes continuous improvement of environmental practices and workplace safety. Ensure parts are kept in appropriate quantities to support production and assembly requirements. Assist team members with parts and material handling functions. Respond to equipment requests and emergency supplies. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy work environment according to OSHA. Move requested material from the manufacturing warehouse into service inventory or directly to a service workstation. Take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles. be available around the clock in case of emergency. demonstrate dependability in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about getting results. Maintain appropriate documentation and participate in process improvements and quality improvement programs. Reports all accidents/incidents to Supervisor. Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

High school diploma or GED. Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift. Warehouse operations experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to utilize normal material handling equipment (MHE) to include pallet jacks, VIDMAR systems and forklifts. Ability to utilize ERP AIT devices. Ability to lift, move and set down lightweight parts under 45 pounds without use of MHE. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach push loaded part carts, boxes of parts, etc. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work in confined spaces. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard. Represent PCSI and the department professionally and positively. Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate office business machines (calculator, phone, copier, etc.) and a personal computer. Ability to expertly communicate both orally and/or in written format. Ability to follow guidelines to arrange objects or actions in a certain order. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
