The Opportunity:
The Raw Material Development and Approval team seeks a highly motivated and hands-on associate to support the approval of alternate sources for established raw materials utilizing standard processes (addressing current and future needs) as well as new material development to support technology programs (addressing current and future needs following Company Bold Goals).
Responsibilities:
Design laboratory studies to evaluate well established/new raw materials and interpret the results based on the underlying properties of the materials being studied. Develop and apply advanced characterization methods for organic reinforcements. Provide on-site assistance during plant trials as required and perform supplier Technical assessments. Communication and collaboration within raw material team, suppliers, procurement and quality/manufacturing to ensure successful development and technology transfer.
To join our team, you will need:
Education:
Bachelor, master degree in chemical engineering, material science, or chemistry relevant.
Languages:
Mandarin, good English skill, fluent in written & oral English. Any other foreign language is an asset.
Experience:
1-5 years Experience in raw materials or compounding. 1-5 years Experience in manufacturing (mixing and preparation in a tire plant) is an asset. Experience in understanding structure/property relationships and advanced characterization methods for raw materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Familiarity with polymers, fillers, and/or reinforced composites is desired. Proficiency in the statistical design and analysis of experimental data is required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams is required. Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills is required. Domestic and international travel is sometimes required. The associate needs to be open minded, optimistic, and collaborative with a strong sense of urgency.
