Material Flow Manager

Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Material Flow Manager in La Crosse, WI.  The Material Flow Manager is responsible for seamless material flow throughout the factory and is highly focused on “clear-to-build” production readiness, lineside material presentation, inbound / outbound logistics.  The incumbent will maintain a strong presence on the factory floor and oversees all materials supervisors, team leads, and material handlers. 

Key performance indicators for this position are safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.  This role reports directly to the Materials Manager.

This position has been designated as On-Site.

Position Responsibilities:

 

Develop strategies to optimize site-wide material flow through application of lean principles, process management, material handling strategies, and automation.Lead the implementation of a progress-based pull system to synchronize all last mile and internal material flow processes.Implement world-class kitting and sequencing systems.  Oversee all aspects of the PFEP program including point-of-use and logistics considerations. Participate in factory layout changes; develop material delivery methods to optimize material flow.Collaborate with enterprise technology leaders and manufacturing leaders to improve material and information flow.Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team.  Provide direction to analyze production issues, develop countermeasures, and issue resolution for material flow.Optimize material delivery processes by analyzing workflow, staffing levels, space requirements, equipment requirements, storage and conveyance methods.Maintain efficient workflow through development of standard work, area layouts, material flow maps and material handling systems.  Evaluate and recommend equipment as needed.Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standard procedures.Maintain team talent by recruiting, selecting, training, developing and coaching employees.

·     Must have good understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.

·     This is a safety sensitive role

 

Experience and Skills Required:

·     Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, industrial engineering or related field.

·     10+ years of experience in the integrated supply chain and lean manufacturing.

·     Experience with lean principles, material flow, and visual management systems.

·     Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.

·     Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.

·     Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, ERP system, inventory control software.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $120,000 - $145,000

 
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
