Job DescriptionJob Description

I.  Purpose

Utilize forklift to transport material as needed for operators and storing product.  Receiving products and distributing to appropriate departments.

II.  Duties

          Task 1: Transport Materials from Machines to Racks to Departments using Forklift

Forklift is operated with both hand and foot controls with an 18” step from the ground to a second 10” step to seat which is positioned at 20” high.  A hand scanner is used to scan picked up product and record where product is stored in computer system.

                                   12-Hour Poly Extrusion Assignment:

Take clear finished rolls from Extruder, Slitter, and Repellitizer to appropriate warehouse racks with forklift.Keep Extruders supplied with cores, pallets, roll end covers, additives, and core plugs.Place Resin Cradles on 44”x44” pallets. Cradles are stacked 4.5” to 52” high and weigh 25 pounds each.Wrap and label Ultra-P pallets and deliver to Shipping.Remove and record waste bins from Extruders and replace with empty bins.Keep Repellitizer supplied.Pull rolls to the slitter to be cut down when needed.Assist maintenance when extruders go down, get parts out of rack, general help.Supply Core Cutter with cores and removal.Maintain self and work area to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and other prerequisite food safety programs.Assist in the raining of new or inexperienced handlers.

                                 12-Hour Press Department Assignment:

Supply the Press Department with all necessary raw materials.Place and scan all Press Department returned rolls.Scan all rejected rolls to LO17C and send to PX.Weigh-up all plain film boxes and bins in the Press Department as needed.Respond to and supply Bag Department as needed.

                                  12-Hour Outside Person Assignment:

Receive new pallets and bring to each Departments’ staging area.Replenish pallets as needed.Separate good pallets from damaged pallets.Redistribute good pallets to the departments for reuse and transport damaged pallets outside for repair or disposal.Dispose filled liquid and solid waste drums. Replenish drums.Check solid waste drums to ensure bongs and barrel rings are tight.Maintains self and work area to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and other prerequisite food safety programs.Assists in the training of new or inexperienced handlers.Transport hazardous waste (liquid and solid) drums outside to dyke and stack drums inside.Remove liquid waste from dyke and remove lids to allow a vacuum pumping truck to suck drums dry.May be required to dump and scrape solid residue from bottom of drum.Weigh up Press & Bag waste daily.Weigh second shift Bag waste on Friday.Clean outside parameters of the plant throughout the year.Supplies for the front office (usually on Thursdays) – delivery and take away pronto files.

                                           

                                         8-Hour Dayshift Assignment:

Unload delivery trucksTransport pallets of cardboard boxes to appropriate storage area.Handle all receipts and documentationCount all items in delivery trucks and match up to the purchase orders prior to stocking shipment in plantDeliver and/or stock shipment in appropriate departments throughout the plantProvide trash and recycle disposal – Pick-up and place in dumpsterSupply the Bag Department with all necessary raw materialsPlace and scan all Bag Department returned rollsWeigh Bag wasteUse the Bortex Scrubber to sweep and clean dock area and walkways throughout the plant on various occasions.Maintains self and work area to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and other prerequisite food safety programs.Assists in the training of new or inexperienced handlers.

                                               

Housekeeping

Sweep floors in plant area and outside lot area as designatedSweep plant area dailyDuring winter months, clear snow from lot area and walkways using a shovel and snowblowerHand paint area of plant as requestedEmpty plant garbage binsWeigh trash bin and document weight of each bin on a log sheet. Distribute log sheet to crew leader at end of each shift.Empty recyclable bins into compactor.

 III.  Knowledge

1.   Requirements

      High School Diploma or equivalent.

2.  Sources

     Training will be provided on the job by the Company.

IV.  Contacts

1.   Internal

      Employee will have contact with all Material Handlers, crew leaders, department heads, hourly and office personnel

2. External

     Employee receiving incoming materials will have contact with tractor trailer and truck drivers.

V.  Responsibility

Safety is top priority.Employee is responsible to ensure materials are delivered to operators.Completed product is stored properly.Assist in unloading of trucks and handling of incoming materials/supplies.Verify all receipts utilizing packing lists.  Maintain all AIB compliance.Participate and attend on-site employee meetingsRegular attendance is requiredBe willing to work all shifts which include weekendsBe willing to work overtime as the need arises
