POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler is responsible for the physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, placing packages, as well as physical bending, twisting, kneeling etc. in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Picks orders based on customer specifications.Scans materials and data entry when required.Reviews orders prior to packaging for accuracy and quality.Packs orders to ensure that it reaches our customer in excellent condition.Inspects raw materials for damage, contamination, or discoloration.Documents incoming shipments and movements as required.Communicates effectively and appropriately with Production, Quality, and Group Leaders.Reviews orders prior to packaging for accuracy and quality.ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required:  High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Degree: Associates Degree or Trade SchoolExperience: Minimum of 1 year required, 3 years preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience operating a forklift and or picker is a plus.Strong organizational and clerical skills.Excellent attention to detail.Experienced using MS Office SuiteUnderstanding of database/computer programsAbility to work effectively and efficiently with internal customers and company personnel with diverse backgrounds and abilities.Complies with all safety policies and procedures
