Material Handler
Location: Clearwater, Florida
Primary Function:
Material Handler Employees are responsible for the movement of finished and unfinished products and materials within the facility. Employees operate a powered industrial truck and could be called on to load/unload trucks or move material between areas or departments. Specific duties may vary
between departments and/or processes.
Tools and Equipment.
Motorized industrial trucks
Materials:
Metals – steel and titanium and packaging materials.
Responsibilities:
Load and unload trailers.
Transfer finished materials between areas or departments.
Operate motorized industrial trucks.
Able to train new employees in the Material Handling process.
Use of Microsoft Teams.
Identify and label Work Orders for shipment.
Able to receive material incoming from LTL, UPS, & FedEx shipments.
Familiar with the application process.
Able to identify inventory and fallout.
Read work instructions from work order or traveler. Consult with Team Leader or shift operators to determine status of in process work, other work to be completed.
Assist Machine Operators with moving material within and outside of their assigned work areas.
Inform the Team Leader or Manager of any irregularities in material, equipment, procedures etc. including advanced notice of need to replenish consumable wear parts.
Responsible for maintaining crew compliance with established operating procedures.
Record required information on forms and/or electronic I/O devices.
Communicate with other material handlers to overcome or correct problems as they occur. Assist other material handlers and operators as required during a downtime situation.
Assist in the training of other Material Handler employees.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
Observe all safety rules and procedures including wearing designated personal protective equipment and lock out tag out.
Work with Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, Technical Development on process improvement projects. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as requested.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager.
