How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the

Material Handler, you will be responsible for supporting internal and external customers through accurate receiving, stocking, kitting, cycle counting, picking, delivery, and shipment of materials.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1.  Safety: 

Promote and maintain a safe working environment. Ensure tools and equipment are in working order and can be used in a safe manner. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Maintain proper certification for utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes. Report any hazards that are identified.

2.  Material Movement: 

Load and unload trailers with a forklift. Read piece part drawings, bill of materials and kit lists. Pick and pack parts and prepare for shipping. Schedule shipments via, USPS, UPS, FEDEX or other third-party freight service. Transfer parts and materials to production areas. Maintain inventory levels by identifying, labelling, stocking, and recording materials and supplies.

3.  Maintain Accurate Data: 

Verify items and quantities on packing slips and receive or ship as necessary. Develop bills of lading and delivery forms. Maintain accurate SAP information relating to counts and part numbers. Conduct regular cycle counts.

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

1-2 years of forklift experience 1-2 years of experience in material handling Ability to read

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and Excel SAP or other ERP system experience CDL or ability to get a CDL

 

Education & Certifications

High school diploma or GED

Travel & Working Environment

Onsite Plant environment and may be exposed to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or noise

Physical Demands

The demands described are representative of those that must be met by someone who successfully performs the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation:
