Summary/Objective The material handler position ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed. Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area. The material handler is primarily responsible for assisting in the flow of production. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Essential Functions Observance of all safety rules and policies maintained by the company. Must be able to operate appropriate equipment like scan guns. Must be able to maintain daily production goals and deadlines physically and mentally as established by management. Maintenance of raw material inventory (parts, supplies, etc.) Assistance in loading and preparing product for build, if needed. Rotation of position within team structure as necessary; Maintenance of good housekeeping practices at all times. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software; Microsoft software, D365, and understand the Mobile Device and scanner and power tools Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical Demands While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the employee is regularly standing walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. In addition, the employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided. Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Travel There is no travel required for this position. Required Education and Experience High school degree or GED. Ability to write simple correspondence. Able to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards Ability to use hand tools, scan guns, and power tools Ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products Ability to read and follow documented procedures and standards Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements Willing and available to work overtime to reach goals Clear communication (oral and written) skills Must be able to maintain daily production goals and deadlines physically and mentally as established by management. Preferred Education and Experience 1-3 months related work experience and/or training. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Basic computer skills preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) plus Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
