Material Handler

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The rate for this position is $21.26 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
**What you’ll do:**
+ Operate a forklift to move components, supplies & finished goods
+ Load and unload trailers as required
+ Pick and pull stock for delivery
+ Organize pallet area
+ Organize material storage locations in front yard, inside the building on a regular basis
+ Complete daily forklift inspection
+ Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
+ Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
+ Keeps work areas clean and safe.
+ Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
+ Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
+ Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
+ Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility as needed.
**Qualifications:**
**Basic (Required) Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
+ Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ A minimum of one (1) year of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
+ Crane Certified
**Skills:**
**Position Criteria:**
+ Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
+ Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
+ Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
+ Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance.
+ Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
+ Fast-paced environment
