Job Description
Our Material Handler Class 2 is tasked with the efficient handling and coordination of materials crucial for uninterrupted production workflows. This role requires the execution of more complex material handling duties including loading and unloading supplies, coordinating shipments and deliveries, and managing inventory systems to track material usage and availability accurately. You must be proficient in the use of advanced material handling equipment, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and possess the ability to resolve discrepancies in shipment and inventory records. Additionally, we expect adherence to strict safety and quality guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and the integrity of materials handled.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A MATERIAL HANDLER CLASS 2
· You have very strong customer service skills
· Operate advanced material handling equipment, including high-capacity forklifts and automated retrieval systems, to move heavy or oversized materials
· Coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of complex or sensitive materials used in aviation refueling equipment manufacturing
· Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders or transfers to maintain supply chain fluidity
· Organize and maintain storage areas to optimize space utilization and accessibility
· Implement safety protocols for handling hazardous or delicate materials to prevent accidents and damage
· Oversee the loading and unloading processes, ensuring that handling is performed efficiently and safely
· Use inventory management software to track material movement and update records accurately
· Conduct detailed inspections of materials for quality and specification compliance before acceptance
· Lead and train Class 1 Material Handlers in proper handling techniques and safety procedures
· You have a great attention to detail
· Available to work, days, nights, weekends and holidays
· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks
· Like to build long term relationships with your customers
· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents 
· Physical activity may include:
o Stand and walk for extended periods of time
o Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
o Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
o Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
Qualifications
· Minimum age of 18 years old
· 2 year inventory or warehouse experience
· Ability to pass a drug screen
· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
