Job Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for preparing, listing and transporting various materials to and from the Nordson EFD facility.  The transport of materials will involve driving company vehicles to our suppliers & customers throughout the local area. This role will also involve working with inventory to ensure proper organization and location of materials.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks, deliver materials to the appropriate person or locationEffectively communicate with supervisors, managers and other personnel on transportation issuesPlan and prioritize work to complete all scheduled and non-scheduled activities in a timely mannerCommunicate inventory discrepancies to Inventory ManagerKeep inventory well organized in the designated areas by warehouse locationsRepresent EFD with local suppliers and customers in a safe, professional mannerMaintain & operate company vehicles with the utmost care and safety.  Ensure cleanliness andContribute to the success of team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on procedure changes and by displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with others.Operate material handling equipment in a safe mannerOperate forklift, other lift trucks and shrink wrapper in accordance with safety standardsComply with all relevant ISO proceduresOther duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of material handling experience in a fast-paced environment, preferredOperating a company vehicle 50% of the time is a requirement for this roleDOT Medical Certificate (health card) requiredForklift experience is necessary

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Excellent communication skillsSuperior organizational skillsBasic computer skills needed to accurately enter data for inventory controlAbility to read, write & speak in English is necessary along with basic math skills (must be able to accurately count and multiply)Attention to detail is a mustMust have the ability to be flexible with work schedule, including the ability to work overtime

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Estimated: 50% (Local travel is part of this job.  Material transport is done via Nordson trucks.)

Manufacturing environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Frequent stooping and bending.  Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
