Location/Division Specific Information:

Third Shift: Sunday-Thursday 12:00AM-8:30AM

Grand Island, NY-Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD). Manufacturing facility producing liquid and powder media and developing cell culture cell therapies.

A Day in the Life:

Process customer orders daily to meet their expectations.Work in one or more process paths; receiving, picking, packing, or shipping.Prepares shipping documents, coordinates shipments with couriers, and ships materials, including finished products, per applicable SOPs.Ensure inventory is stored accurately.Work with your team to make sure everyone has a magical experience every day.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Minimum of one year of general warehouse experience.One to two years’ experience working with computers and basic software packages, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers).Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Maintain knowledge of current import/export regulations as they relate to shipment of goods to and from the USA.Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skillsSuccessful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $16.81–$21.61.
