What will you do?
Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested.Assist in receiving biological specimens, clinical agents, chemical compounds, and/or Investigational products.Verify the quality, type and quantity of materials received are accurate and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).Weigh dry chemical compoundsAliquot liquid biological samples or productsPerform general documentation management (i.e. generate, review, archive, or destroy)Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C.Assures compliance to company quality systems.Adheres to SOPs, facility safety guidelines, and FDA requirements, including cGMP CFR parts 210 and 211 if relevant.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Certificates and/ or Licenses:
IATA Dangerous Goods Training.Blood Borne Pathogens Training.Certified Pharmacy Tech, preferredExperience:
Prefer 3+ years work experience with data entry, shipping/receiving, sample management.Proven track record to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules required.Need basic digital literacy to navigate inventory systems, Microsoft Office, and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions.Proven track record in communicate effectively verbally and in written form.Knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory, and quality assurance/control.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good interpersonal skills and customer service skills required.Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.Must maintain strong attendance performance.Ability to follow general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new projects to complete assigned tasks. Accuracy is required in performing all duties; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.Training will be provided through one-on-one instruction, on-the-job training (OJT), Thermo Fisher Scientific generated Standard Training Protocol (STP) and/or other training documentation.
Working Conditions:
Cold environments ranging from ambient to -196°C with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, marked changes in temperature.Perform work of a highly repetitive nature.Will walk, stand, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a continuous basis.May occasionally sit, kneel, crouch and crawl.Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.Travel will be required to Division sites between Rockville and Frederick (will be told in advance).Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $15.85–$23.77.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
