Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking a Material Handling Operator II to join our team in Long Island City, NY. The individual in the role will perform any assigned warehouse and office task as determined by daily requirements for the day-to-day material operation. We are seeking an organized individual with great attention to detail, and excellent communication and follow-up skills. You will ensure a safe working environment for self and others while on customer and Siemens properties. This is a 1st shift position, 7am-3:30pm M-F with possible weekends as needed.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform Cycle counts using SAP and project specific inventory systems. Manage and report performance metrics related to customer CTQ’s for stores teams to Project and CS Management, including but not limited to impact of material availability to fleet availability (LHFM, BAM, etc.) Ensure that defective core material is returned in a timely fashion, support Maintenance Planners for material support issues. Will work across functions to ensure cycle time of return inventory is completed at each process handoff. Ensure safe working environment in office and warehouse and depots. Assist with material identification/ validation for planned and unscheduled maintenance activities. Coordinate with CS Material Planner and Central Warehouse for continued flow of standard fulfillment, emergency materials needs and other material/logistics requirements. Understand and Initiate Out of Service (OOS) and emergency notifications when material is needed to support customer needs. Pack, process, and ship material using SAP and carrier specific web sites / requirements. Receive and process routable parts (cores) returned by customer in accordance with Siemens and Customer requirements. Create and process SAP Service orders. Issue material to customer using SAP and/ or Project specific inventory systems and instructions. Perform investigations when inventory inaccuracies are discovered.To thrive in this role, you have:
High School Diploma or GED, Minimum of 1 year of warehousing experience, Proficiency with Microsoft Office (focusing on Excel), Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English, Excellently demonstrated customer service skills, The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload, The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and focused on safety. The base salary range for this position in Long Island City, NY is $43,100 - 50,800. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
