Position: Material Handler III
Shift: 1st shift - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday- Thursday *Friday overtime may be required.
Wage: $20.37 hr.

Reporting to the shift manager, as a Material Handler III you will perform a variety of shipping and receiving duties, support the needs of production for raw materials and the removal of finished goods from the work area and prepare finished goods for shipment out of the facility.


What you will be doing: 

Must have forklift and pallet jack experience to Load and unload shipments. Mark all shipments with the appropriate part number and place in their designated location as soon as possible.Verify all shipping documentation for any errors that could be present. Sign and turn in all documentation to the Procurement Coordinator promptly.Create BOL’s utilizing the computer system.Strong knowledge of inventory process including cycle count process.Be able to coordinate the shipping of small parcel packages, utilizing the internet using a computer. Support the needs of production through the handling and distribution of finished goods, raw materials, molds, jigs, fixtures, etc. to the appropriate workstations throughout the plant.Notify Production Supervisor immediately of potential or existing problems as they arise, such as product defects, serial number errors, and poor workmanship on products.Perform part inspection and required documentation.Contact and coordinate LTL and truckload shipments to/from the facility utilizing computer system.Make efficient use of shop supplies and materials.Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.Continually practice safe operation and handling of all equipment, raw materials and products throughout the entire plant.

Have one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills are required to coordinate small parcel shipments via the internet. Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, shipping documentation, and memos. The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peer employees, freight carriers, and customers.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The candidate requires the ability to use and accurately read a tape measure.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in multiple step instructions by oral, written, or drawn communication. Ability to deal with standardized situations with many potential variables.Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a fast -paced environment.Understand and use Microsoft Excel and Word. Forklift certification and internal driver testing for the company vehicle are required.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
