PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under general supervision, handles and maintains the flow of materials and products through the distribution center in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with company standards and procedures. This role also provides daily leadership to the bulk chemical tank farm and portable filling operations and personnel.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

 

Provides daily leadership, development, and training to the bulk chemical tank farm and portable filling operations and personnel.

 

Provides daily leadership to Material Handler I and Material Handler II for all inquiries surrounding accurate receiving, placement, and storage of product within distribution center in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Responsible for the receiving, shipping, warehousing, and physical control of all chemicals associated with the chemical tank farm.

 

Transports and restocks products in their assigned locations maintaining first in/first out inventory procedures.  Ensures all operating procedures are followed to ensure efficient and effective space utilization and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

 

Oversees loading and unloading of materials in compliance with warehouse specifications and standards and provides guidance for all company and federal regulations relating to loading and unloading.

 

In conjunction with Crop Protection Supply Manager determines storage assignment locations and monitors the physical placement of products to ensure accurate physical locations.

 

Oversees the operational process of filling portable tanks to: 

Manage fill process assuring correct fill quantities are achieved.  Manage sequencing process to avoid contamination and assure compliance with supplier chemistry repack.  Coordinate with Crop Protection Supply Manager to maintain proper inventory of chemistries, proper inventory of available empty portable tanks, labels, seals and necessary supplies.

 

Manage necessary reporting with: 

Alpha office.  Crop Protection Supply Manager.  Suppliers of bulk chemistries held at Alpha tank farm.

 

Transports merchandise using a forklift / high lift to designated locations within the distribution center, which may include loading, unloading and order picking.

 

Utilizes first in/first out inventory procedures.

 

Rotates product and materials throughout the rack storage area as sales data or seasons dictate.

 

Completes all necessary paperwork and updates supervisor to ensure accuracy. 

 

Participates in periodic product inventories and annual inventory.

 

Back up for the Operations Manager as needed.

 

Oversees daily housekeeping and equipment care.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Supervises periodic physical inventories as well as the annual physical inventory.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a degree in a related field or 5+ years related work experience to demonstrate the ability to provide daily leadership to the bulk chemical tank farm and portable filling operations.

 

May occasionally be exposed to or required to work in conditions that may include dust, fumes, chemicals with appropriate safety measures.

 

May be required to lift 51-70 lbs.

 

Understanding and experience with a bulk chemical tank farm and portable tank filling operation, maintenance, inventory control, quality assurance and customer service.

 

Proven professional communication and customer service skills.

 

Proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others.

 

Demonstrated planning, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate extreme peak demands and time pressures.

 

Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. 

 

Ability to learn and work with OMNI Computer programs. 

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must qualify to operate warehouse equipment necessary to perform material handling duties.

 

Must have a high degree of product knowledge and storage methods.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
