Job description

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay $19.50 per hour, plus $1 shift differential

Night Shift: 7pm–7am on a 2-2-3 Schedule

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The associate monitors flow of finished product from production to assigned location within the plant.  Associate ensures all materials needed within production and blend plant are available.  Associate must be able to perform all functions of Material Handler 1 and all front and back aisle functions of the Material Handler 2 position.  Associate assists with training of Material Handler 1 and front and back aisle Material Handler 2.

Conduct daily rack-mover and/or forklift safety checks; maintain forklift battery and propane tanks; complete Safe Work Order ticket for forklift maintenanceComplete all Inventory Control Label tags and ICL log sheets for finished goods coming from productionMaintain salvage tickets and salvage log sheets for racks and knock-out gaylords from productionMove racks and set empty racks on-line to remove finished product from production linesCrush, bale and load waste cardboard from production areaDeliver crating cardboard to crate areaMaintain clean and orderly work areas dailySupply regrind to production whenever needed and log regrind ticketProvide pigment, purge, substrate, regrind master batch and test material to all linesProvide micro ingredients to Blend PlantPerform repacking responsibilities that include reboxing product and ensuring product is entered into inventory and delivered appropriatelyRemove recyclable material from production lineLoad and unload trailersPerform daily warehouse inventory of regrind, boxes, pigment, nails/spikes, glue, purge, brown material, low gloss material, and Gaylord linersEnter into BPCS weights from regrind tags, where applicableEnsure pigments and raw materials are not left in aisles and are stored properlyProvide assistance with cycle and inventory countsTrain Material Handling Associate 1’s and 2’sPerform other related duties and assignments as requiredTrain new associates, as neededActively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on locationObserve health and safety practices when handling bacon stripsTrain on BPCS for receipt of incoming materialsAssist in handling dispositioned QA product Qualifications Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools as requiredWork in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policiesHelp ensure co-workers are working safely and following safety requirementsSupport and participate in Employee Engagement activitiesFollow defined clean-up timesMust follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized WorkParticipate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for our customersIdentify problems; communicate issuesAssist with training co-workersSupport a respectful workplacePerform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or managementPerform housekeeping duties as neededAssist and cover for other workers in different areas as neededDependability/punctualityAbility to read a tape measureBasic reading and math skills are preferredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistPerform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periodsPossess communication, teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skillsDetail oriented Additional information
