Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer. The Material Handling Supervisor at BlueOval SK – BlueOval Battery Park in Glendale, Kentucky will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up. **Key Areas of Responsibility:** + Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department including but not limited to: + Ensuring proper material flow from receiving dock to warehouse location to the production line feed location and to the delivery of finished product to the customers + Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources appropriately in order to cover material handling responsibilities + Support operating system and synchronous material flow lean manufacturing practices + Assure all safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, environment, production throughput, budgets, practices, objectives, and continuous improvements are achieved + Define and coach team through leveraging standardized work + Lead and manage hourly personnel + Provide communication and recognition + Build hourly Team Leader and Team Member capacity + Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks + Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution + Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents **Minimum Requirements:** + Experience in the following areas (2-5 years): + Material Planning and Logistics experience desired + Strong ability to interface with plant hourly and salaried personnel, logistics carriers, and production suppliers. + Experience in effectively leading / supervising a team. + Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.) + Experience in Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS) or similar ERP + Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern + Ability to work independently with limited supervision + React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management + Strong analytical skills, quick decision-making capability and curiosity + Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase + Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills **Preferred Requirements:** + Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Material Planning and Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering + Knowledge of Ford Production System (lean manufacturing) is desired, but not necessary **About BlueOval SK** At BlueOval SK, we will lead the transformation of the electric vehicle (EV) battery business through partnership (Joint Venture formed by Ford and SK On) to provide products and processes to increase our customers’ experience.
