This role has a strong emphasis on ensuring world class standards of material flow, storage, accuracy, quality, and kitting. The Material Planner will be integral in executing the Production Plan and will manage work-order launches in combination with effective material presentation and control whilst identifying key shortages that may affect the line

Roles and Responsibilities:

Role Summary:

Attend daily operating rhythms to ensure cell material position clarity.Use planning methods to execute in line with Production Plan. Review material position and drive supply-chain to deliver in line with customer requirements.Apply problem solving skills to overcome cell queries and provide swift resolutions.Assist coaches and leadership with process improvements to develop performance of local team and the wider manufacturing workshop.Support leadership on process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns, reduce manufacturing losses, and develop world-class material presentation.Deliver on personal goals agreed with leadership relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.Request parts through the PFL tool.Expedite material through goods inwards

Essential Responsibilities

Generate daily and weekly production scheduleManage shortages to maximise clear to build and on time starts/finishesRelease job cards in line with MRP and action exception messagesCollaborate with ops team to provide output commitsDefine daily/weekly production goals to track adherence to the planCollaborate with ops team to ensure resources are appropriately allocated and aligned to achieve the planThe applicant must be a good team player flexible and be able to work to tight schedules.Monitor the integrity of job card data to ensure MRP signals are correct

 

Qualifications/Requirements

The successful candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.They can work in a fastpaced environment and having experience of, or exposure to, a similar production environment would be beneficial, as would knowledge of MRP systemsGood problem solving skills & being able to perform effectively in pressurised situationsAble to effectively influence within a matrix organisationCompetence in MS Excel is required.A degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience.Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to work independentlyStrong problem solving skills desirable
