Summary


The Material Planner III executes, plans and manages work orders to meet company production commitments and in accordance to company policies and procedures. One works from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. In this role, the Material Planner coordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for planning and providing status of material availability of assigned productsCreates and releases work orders to production based upon the MPS, and follows them through to completionSupports Contracts & Finance to ensure customer orders are completed on scheduleReviews status material shortages with procurement. Communicates with Production Control regarding priorities and material shortagesWorks closely with production leads and production control to ensure that issues are addressed as quickly as possibleAssists Purchasing and Manufacturing with the resolution of MRP and planning discrepanciesManages ECO implementation for assigned product to ensure all material and demand dispositions have been properly implementedWorks on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factorsResolves a wide range of issues in creative ways based on one’s full understanding of the specializationOther duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceMinimum of 5 - 8 years of exact experience with increasing level of complexity of bill of materialsExperienced with planning practices and processes in manufacturing and engineering environmentsDemonstrated proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel) and MRP/ERP systems

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

APICS Certification (CPIM) is preferredExperience using Oracle ERP system or similar is preferredDemonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsEffective problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills in working well with others across disciplines and with external suppliersConsistent in exhibiting high organizational and coordination skills to meet deadlines. Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

The salary range for this role is:

$71,704 - $101,640
