Materials Planning Manager
The Materials Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of materials and inventory to ensure efficient production and supply chain operations. This role involves managing the MRP process, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to meet production goals and customer demands.
This role will lead a team of material planners, material supply managers (MSM) and key users.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain management.
Minimum 3 years of successful leadership and mentoring of people and teams.
Proficient in inventory management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on inventory levels, demand forecasts, and production schedules.
Demonstrated experience of effective collaboration and negotiation with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM) is preferred.
What will your key responsibilities be?
• Lead and mentor a team of material planners, material supply managers (MSM) and key users (B4 to T2).
• Develop and implement materials planning strategies to ensure timely availability of materials for production.
• Develop and implement materials supply management strategies to unlock cost, cash and long term service in partnership with commercial-procurement & central resources.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Collaborate with central supply chain, commercial, center of excellence, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to plan material requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to material shortages or excess inventory.
• Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Prepare and present reports on inventory status, material usage, and planning metrics.
