Role Definition

As a Material Requirements Planning Manager you will manage staff and activities related to maintaining proper levels of stock or inventory.

Responsibilities

Material Requirements Manager for multiple RI locationsSupervising Logistics Planning Analyst (LPA)Responsible for management of supplier shipping performance (SSP), past due schedules & clean to ship (CTS) executionCoordinating with multiple functions, such as manufacturing, procurement, etc., to acquire appropriate requirements to meet development and accuracy standards.Managing day-to-day activities of inventory administration staff; participating in interviewing, hiring, and training and development of associates.Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; implementing loss prevention procedures and practices.Participating in planning inventory and defining optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority; monitoring inventory levels.

Top Candidate Will Have:

APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desiredAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills.College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is desiredSolid logistics and manufacturing knowledgeExcellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skillsExcellent teamwork and leadership skillsStrong supplier relationship management skillsThe ability to develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problemsThorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially supplier-focused Caterpillar initiativesSolid product knowledge

Inventory Management:
• Coordinates daily work of inventory management for different locations within a facility or a supply network.
• Devises standard inventory management benchmarks to improve the processes.
• Ensures that the inventory is at an appropriate level and meets both internal and external requirements.
• Provides guidance on inventory management for a specific product group or location.
• Applies systems and processes to identify and coordinate inventory requirements; resolves conflicts.
• Reviews reports used for inventory management to find out related problems.

Logistics Management:
• Develops and analyzes logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
• Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.
• Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
• Works with historical, legislative and practical issues associated with domestic freight.
• Participates in contract negotiations and interfaces with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.
• Consults on all major logistics processes, their interactions and operational requirements.

Supply Chain Management:
• Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
• Participates in joint planning, process design/redesign with clients and partners.
• Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
• Manages supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.
• Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
• Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.

The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 10% travel

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
