Description:

Execute the materials function at a world class locomotive Service Shop.  Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to support locomotive maintenance operations.  Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics. Partner with operations leaders to drive just in time material flow for work orders in the Smart Shop environment.  Work strategically to drive physical and systematic improvements in the material flow process by deploying Lean / Six Sigma methodology.

Key responsibilities include:

As the point person for a team, you will be responsible for:

Review of parts usages at all Service Shops and update trackers regularly to identify and maintain minimum stock levels and timely releasing of future parts ordersPeriodic updates of Item Master in Oracle (MRP, Min-Max, Lead Times, Buyers, HSN classification etc.)Enabling new parts in Services Oracle org and obtain HSN classifications where requiredCreation of Reman Parts for India Services as requiredMonthly Inventory tracking and make sure to be within budgeted limits and provide pacing updatesQuarterly obsolescence review and provide recommendation to FinanceFollow up on Internal and external orders.  Internal orders involve review of availability from Source orgs and managing shipments from Source org.  External orders involve follow up with fulfillment team for timely availability of materialTake necessary action for any other program related parts (FMI or other special program) requirement as per requests received from respective teams with necessary approvalsRegular engagement with Sourcing for closure of open productivity projects and identifying new productivity opportunities

Quality Specific Goals:

Aware of and comply with the Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required Knowledge and understanding of production process work instructions and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 08-10 years of Supply chain experience Proven ability to drive change initiatives in a matrix environment. Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

Preferred Qualifications:

Oracle /Any other ERP knowledge and experience Good working knowledge of Excel Experience/Knowledge in operations and planning
